Les autorités new-yorkaises envoient alors leur plus fin limier pour éclaircir ce mystère. Ichabod Crane ne croit ni aux légendes, ni aux vengeances post-mortem. Mais, à peine arrivé, il succombe au charme étrange et vénéneux de la belle Katrina Van Tassel.
