Oct 24, 2005Voici un objet rare. Non pas qu’il soit difficile à dégoter chez votre disquaire préféré, mais Exposed (c’est son nom) est à ce jour le seul témoignage scénique de Mike Oldfield.
La chose fut enregistrée en 1978 avec une plâtrée de musiciens pas piqués des vers : Maddy Prior (Steeleye Span), Phil Beer (à la tienne), Nico Ramsden, les frangins Pierre et Benoît Moerlen (Gong) mais également le bassiste polonais Pekka Pohjola (auteur du très bon album Mathematician Air Display sur lequel intervient Mike, avis aux amateurs), David Bedford, Mike Frye, Tim Cross, les musiciens traditionnels Robin Morton et Ringo McDonough ainsi que le Queen College Girls Choir et j'en passe... autant dire que le père Oldfield voyait les choses en scope, en grand large, en mirobolant ! Tant est si bien que malgré son succès, la tournée s'avèrera un réel désastre financier. Pour se consoler, Virgin tentera d'amortir les dégâts avec ce double album.

The religious rituals in Taiwan are always noisy and seemingly chaotic, yet with a strong force of life. To make the meaning of the ritual easier to grasp, the film tries to reveal passion and paranoia of the pilgrims and turn it into a spectacle of joy and pathos.
