Le groupe de reggae légendaire Steel Pulse est apparu sur l'émission de télévision allemande Rockpalast le 12 décembre 1979. Le groupe s'était formé à peine quatre ans plus tôt à Birmingham, en Angleterre, par les guitaristes David Hinds et Basil Gabbidon après avoir entendu l'album de 1973 de Bob Marley et les Wailers, Catch a Feu. Mais le groupe a souvent été exclu des salles de Birmingham en raison de ses croyances rastafariennes, alors ils ont trouvé un foyer avec un autre groupe de parias - les punk rockers.
