This story takes place in Moscow during 2006. The film is about new generation of kids, called Indigo, who have more mental and spiritual abilities than others. A company of such kids gather together in hidden places. Each of them can do unbelievable things, such as : reading other people thoughts, communicating with animals, breaking computer codes. They are different from ordinary people and they are happy with each other. But some adults want to use their talents for old-time perverted purposes...

Would-be PR man, ladies' man and adventurer Misha Vorobyov is on the verge of another zigzag of fate that does not promise him anything good. They were fired from a solid company, there is no money, and the prospects are more than vague. But Misha does not have time to get used to the sad status of a loser: fate once again presents an unexpected surprise in the form of a rather unusual offer from a former boss. It turns out that he has a son, Seryozha, a young man who is not exactly closed and complexed, but clearly does not meet his father's ideas about the image of a "real man". Realizing the futility of his attempts to guide his son "on the right path," Pavel Petrovich finds, as it seems to him, the only right way out of the situation.

The film follows two student cinematographers who, as the war approaches Moscow, refuse to be evacuated and instead volunteer to be front-line cameramen capturing the horrors of war and heroism of the soviet soldiers. At the same time, we witness another storyline taking place in the US. After the premiere screening of the already completed documentary “Moscow Strikes Back”, one of the members of the Academy Awards selection committee is trying to persuade his fellow colleagues to establish a new category of Best Documentary in the upcoming Oscars event.
