Le trio "survivant" du premier volet est capturé par le gouvernement qui finit par se décider à les relâcher dans la ville contaminée. Cette bourgade est infestée par un virus extraterrestre qui transforme les bons villageois en zombies assoiffés de sang et de cervelle. Cependant il en faut plus pour décourager le trio haut en couleur. Une présentation des membres s’impose. Le chevelu énervé se prénomme Bill. Son hobby? Casser du zombie, si possible avec panache. A ses côtés John West, ancien catcheur oublié du public, un compagnon loyal et au grand cœur. Enfin le petit excité avec son casque de skate et ses lunettes fracassées, c’est Max. Son truc à lui c’est l’informatique. Il semble toutefois que certaines connexions ne se fassent pas dans sa petite tête. Voilà donc les trois amis décidés à se sortir de ce pétrin et à trouver la sortie de la ville. Mais le FBI semble voir les choses d’un autre œil.
