Aleksandra, jeune étudiante en anglais de 23 ans vit à Ljubljana, capitale de la Slovénie. Ses parents sont divorcés : elle méprise sa mère, qui a quitté le domicile familial, mais a plus d’affection pour son père, un rocker vieillissant. Aleksandra mène une double vie : pour vivre, elle se prostitue via les petites annonces sous le nom de "Slovenian Girl". Froide et manipulatrice, elle pensait faire son métier avec détachement. La réalité, sous la forme d'un proxénète menaçant ou des crédits à payer, va vite la rattraper.

A childish and naive Luka, teenager whose world are action TV series and computer games, does not differ reality from fantasies, thus becoming a victim of his slightly older so-called friends who often take advantage of him. In attempt to move Luka off the street and its adverse effects, his mother finds him a nanny, who is unfortunately far from being a piece of event.

The lives of a wealthy married couple radically change in an instant. While the husband is in critical condition after an accident that occurred under strange circumstances, the wife tries to understand the situation and to salvage what she can… In this constricted, small-scale drama by a renowned Slovenian filmmaker, Pia Zemljič excels in the role of the resourceful wife.

The story takes place in the Goriska region, on an estate worth several million euros, which is also a tourist facility outside the series. The Spacapans have owned this estate since 1715. The current owner of the estate is Berto Spacapan, whose wife Tonka died in an accident.
